Destination markets
GCC and UK retail programmes usually want aromatic Basmati with a written grain-length and broken cap. West and East African and some Middle East institutional buyers more often name non-basmati grades (IR64, Sona Masoori, parboiled, or a broken band). Finger millet (ragi) is a separate SKU for bakery and gluten-free flour — do not paste a rice spec onto a ragi order. Grain containers on this desk commonly move through the same company port network; the useful number on an RFQ is your discharge port, not “140+.”
Ports and transit
A 20 ft FCL on rice commonly loads 24–26 MT in 25/50 kg bags when the spec allows it. We fumigate and mark bags to the destination rule you name. On-time performance (99.8% company record) is measured against the agreed window, not against an unpublished internal dashboard.
GCC and UK rice programmes typically name Jebel Ali, Dammam, Doha, Rotterdam, Hamburg, or Felixstowe. We book the discharge port on the RFQ, not a generic worldwide sailing.
