When Alleppey is the right buy (and when it is not)
Buy Alleppey-type turmeric when the application cares about curcumin density: extracts, colour-critical masalas, or a nutraceutical incoming spec that already names HPLC. Buy a standard commercial grade when the lot is for bulk colour in a price-sensitive blend and the buyer will not pay for a 5–6% band.
Do not use this page as a Madras vs Alleppey chemistry paper. If a buyer only writes “turmeric powder, any origin,” send them back a two-line choice: commercial colour grade vs Alleppey HPLC grade. Intact will not invent a curcumin percentage that is not on a named lot’s CoA.
GCC retail often wants deep colour and a clean foreign-matter residual. EU extract desks usually add heavy-metal and dye-negative language. Those extras belong on the RFQ, not as implied site-wide promises.
Buyer specification checklist
