What ISO 9001:2015 means on a merchant-export file
ISO 9001 is a quality-management system, not a spice grade. On this desk it means: written intake rules, lot identity, calibrated inspection equipment, and a document pack that matches the destination. It does not mean every lot is organic, pesticide-free, or 5–6% curcumin. Those are separate claims and need their own evidence.
GMP here means food-contact hygiene: stainless contact surfaces, controlled packing air, and barrier packing when the RFQ requires it. Global G.A.P. is a farm-level scheme we use when the importer asks for it — not a default stamp on every bag.
Certificate copies are available on request to qualified buyers. Registration numbers are not published on this page until they are cleared for public listing.
Buyer specification checklist (compliance)
- Name the spice and the assays you want (HPLC, GC-MS, micro, aflatoxin).
- Name the destination so MRL and phytosanitary can be planned.
- Say whether you require a third-party inspector.

Destination notes
EU files usually add residue and contaminant language. GCC files often add packing and Arabic or bilingual marks. US FDA-oriented files add the usual food-facility and prior-notice conversation at the importer’s end — we prepare the origin documents; the importer still owns entry.
How Intact handles the file
Vendor vetting, batch tags, lab assay when contracted, cleanroom-style packing where specified, and a CoA plus phytosanitary pack. Status updates are email and WhatsApp. There is no ERP-synced portal live today.
Common RFQ mistakes
- Treating ISO 9001 as a substitute for a curcumin or oil assay.
- Asking for “all certificates” with no destination.
- Assuming GMP means a pharmaceutical cleanroom for every culinary lot.
